Yeah, the squawking and pooping is kinda what I was thinking of. Plus, I'm 99% sure that my cat would try to eat any bird I brought into the house. I still think they're wonderful little animals though. Tiny little dinosaurs.

Awww... Chet sounds like a wonderful little guy.

What a beautiful little birb! How is she as a pet? I love birds, but I've always thought of them as being kinda shitty pets.

I think it’s a combination of factors, but I tend to think that the car is maybe a bit more important. I mean, look at the current situation with Mercedes. No question that Hamilton is a brilliant driver, but even he can’t drag that recalcitrant W13 to the top of the grid. He only got P3 in Bahrain because both Red

I look forward to one of these being built in Portland so it can become a place for junkies to OD in the restroom.

For sure, I get that this was a one-off, but I’ve been hoping that the 996 would stay fairly unloved until I was able to snag one, and I’m just really hoping that this isn’t the beginning of a trend. I almost pulled the trigger on a super clean 996 Carrera S about 7-8 years ago, but I was in the process of moving, and

Can we not with the 996? It was basically the last chance for me to own a car that I’ve loved for as long as I’ve known what cars are. I guess I could get a Cayman to scratch that Porsche itch, but the 911 is special in a way that Caymans aren’t. Even a 996 with its ugly headlights is still a 911.

Jesus... I almost forgot about that. Weren’t there some fuckin’ yokels setting up “checkpoints” to make sure that none of them sumbitchin’ anteefer were coming down to start fires?

I wish more people understood this. I don’t live in LA, but I have friends in LA, OC, and San Diego, and housing down there is just fucking absurd.

You’d think so, but plenty of middle class folks bust their asses to afford houses in places like LA. I personally know some of them. I live in Portland, which isn’t QUITE as crazy as LA, but it still boggles my mind how a family with a kid or two and a +/- $150-$200k combined income can afford a house here. I have a

Oregon here.. also no inspections, but we do have emissions testing in some parts of the state. Here in Portland, probably 1/4 of the cars on the road would be scrapped if we did have inspections, but laws aren’t enforced here anyhow, so whatever. Saw this gem a few months back...

We dropped the mask mandate in Oregon on Saturday. I think Washington did the same. I believe that the only state that still has one is Hawaii, and they're dropping theirs in a week or so. I really don't understand what these idiots are on about.

I totally get what you're saying. I guess I overestimated the amount of structural strength provided by the sidepods themselves. It just seems counterintuitive to me that having the side impact spars out there on their own would be as safe as having them contained within the sidepods... But like I said, I'm no

For what it’s worth, I drove a CR-V for about a year that had a CVT. It wasn’t the worst CVT I’ve ever driven, but it was still pretty dismal.

That's not too bad at all. My only concern is that Acura dealerships will probably be tacking on another $10k.

What if I want something economical with a warranty that also needs to be my daily and be able to carry at least 2 other people in relative comfort?

I'm guessing just south of 40k for the A-Spec, which puts it firmly within budget. I love the liftback, and I dig the nicer interior, but damned if that Si isn't an interesting proposition at its price point.

Should I put down a deposit on a new Integra, or just buy an Si?

I’m not a structural engineer, and I’m certain that the folks in Brackley are much smarter than I am, but... Doesn’t it seem like having the upper side impact spar dangling out there on its own (as opposed to being integrated into the sidepods) would decrease its effectiveness? Moreover, wouldn’t it potentially be

Can y’all just go back on strike for a while? This might be the stupidest fucking thing I’ve seen on Jalopnik, and that’s already a pretty high bar.
