Yep, my A4, and both of my GTIs smelled almost exactly the same. I’ve never sat in a Veyron, but I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if they had that VW smell too.
The one Audi I’ve owned, along with the dozens that I’ve driven or ridden in have all smelled almost exactly the same. It’s like a weird crayon-ish odor, combined with almost a bleach/chlorine type of smell. I wouldn’t call it offensive exactly, but it’s certainly distinct.
Good call on Russell. I honestly kinda forgot about him. Shit, Williams might not even be around in another year, so he’ll definitely be looking for a job.
For sure.. I think Alonso is shit out of luck at any of the top teams. Maybe a midfield team would roll the dice on him as an experienced driver that could help to develop the car, but I can’t see Ferrari giving him another shot.
As much as I’d like to see Danny Ric land at Ferrari, I just don’t see it happening. Not after the Red Bull bullshit. He’s not going to want to be relegated to a #2 driver yet again. But, I guess it’s true that a #2 at Ferrari is better than #1 at Renault.
He did have his home address unobscured in the photo of that last invoice from A&A when it was first posted. Luckily he caught it and blurred it out.
Detroit native here.. spent most of my life in Minneapolis, Chicago, or the Detroit metro.
“I never thought I’d find a place that was “too left” in America for someone who was already very left to begin with, but here I am.”
This was a great article.
Geriatric driver mistakes gas for brake. Tale as old as time.
Oh god... I drove a 17' U Haul across the country once. It was the most terrifying three days I’ve ever spent behind the wheel... especially the part where I got caught in the middle of a wind storm in Wyoming. About half way in, I honestly entertained the idea of just abandoning the thing on the side of the road…
For the past 25 years (maybe more?), automakers have been selling “high seating positions” as safety features. People think that the only way to be safe is to drive a gigantic tank of an SUV, and it’s created an arms race of sorts which is only making things more dangerous for other motorists - not to mention…
I remember that video on O-Live. Definitely some criddler action there.
Exactly. It’s funny to me to see the Lucky Devil in the national news. The whole place is a hive of scum and villainy... and probably meth.
This is so fuckin rad. I hope that’s a genuine offer. For one, she deserves it, and for two, well... any opportunity to get the fuck out of Indiana is a good opportunity.
I’m with you 100% on the symmetry thing, but I just cannot get past how hideous that Caterham is. But yeah, at least it’s symmetrically ugly.
Raph mentions the atrocity that was the Caterham CT05, but didn’t post a picture. I just wanted to remind you all of how hideous that thing really was...
Yeah, my first thought was maybe Utah, but when I looked at the little corner of license plate that’s peeking out from behind the paper, it looks like a Nevada plate, so I’m thinking Reno as well. Wherever it is, it’s absolutely not Concord/Pleasant Hill California.
Looks nice and clean given its age and the fact that it’s a 240. I haven’t seen one of these in decent shape for... well... I don’t even know.
