I could see Jesse fishing in Deadliest Catch.

It it possible to get notifications for Random Roles? Seriously. Ninety-percent of the notifications I get are useless, but my favorite feature on this site continually slips by me unnoticed.
@avclub-d542a3419c3ad57206a96bcc86155ebc:disqus I believe that was the town of Dawn. Wasn't there some other town or dungeon that was on an island, and you could only get to it once you could afford a boat?
I actually remember basing part of a book report on the manual for Ancient Art of War At Sea, that manual was so well-done.
Loved Defender of the Crown, especially the swordfighting. I could never get the hang of the jousting though. It just seemed totally random how the screen was bouncing and me trying to get the tip of the lance on the guy's shield.
Wow, I didn't remember that Stepfanie Kramer from Hunter was also on We Got It Made.
@avclub-dc10fce584f2cdf09d6690e0f2883227:disqus Well fuck, Rowan, after 30 years those three games will run together in your mind too. :)
Exodus was monumental at the time. Strangely, I never played Ultima IV, even though from all reports it eclipsed III in every way. For me, Exodus is in my holy trilogy of early RPGs: "Ultima III: Exodus", "Might and Magic I: Secrets of the Inner Sanctum" and "Betrayal at Krondor".
Hey Rowan Kaiser, I loved the shit out of the PC-port of Ultima III: Exodus. And that's when I played it in 1986, because I had a PC and had to wait for all my games to come out years after all my friends had played them on Apple or Commodore. Plus the Apple people could just punch a hole on the side of their…
That feeling goes away once you turn 30. I promise it will. Then you'll feel like "why did I spend a whole year moping?"
Fantastic Random Roles don't come from youth, they come from experience.
There should be a national "Don't Punch The Paparazzi Day", in which all other 364 days are fine for punching the shit out of them.
I agree, sometimes Rapinoe plays around with the ball too much, trying to look for the perfect pass or dribble, and ends up giving the ball away. Other times, she plays without thinking too much and is absolutely stunning.
That '99 team has driven the US Women's soccer team to their standard of excellence that continues through today. Every one of the Olympic and World Cup teams has had to measure up to the standard of the '99ers, and it's been a good thing. I wish the doc had given some more time to Kristine Lilly, who along with…
I just watched the Terriers pilot last night with a friend of mine. I had only seen the last six episodes or so during it's initial run, so it was good to reconnect with those characters in stories I had not seen before. I once again found that I couldn't keep my eyes off Laura Allen (Britt's girlfriend Katie)…
My tween self initially couldn't handle the Sienkiewicz art in New Mutants. I wanted clean lines where I could see bulging muscles, like Mike Zeck's stuff on Captain America, or John Byrne on Fantastic Four, or Bob Layton on Iron Man. The Sienkiewicz stuff looked almost abstract to me. I remember my first issue was…
My first comic book (except for a couple of long-forgotten and lost Archie issues) was GI Joe #26, the origin of Snake Eyes. Before then, I was just reading the issues my friends owned, but when an origin issue was planned for my favorite character, I knew I had to buy it:
@avclub-6997a8bd0e1042b70b60c5c879a1780e:disqus That guy sounds like a hot date.
If it's a good opening, I still get sucked into watching it. I could watch the opening to Rockford Files every day.
Hey, for those of us without cable (and therefore access to MTV), Friday Night Videos was a godsend. I only had one hour of videos on a local syndicated channel on weekday afternoons, and would otherwise not know what the hell the cool kids in school were talking about.
