Too bad this show isn't set at the San Diego - Tijuana border.  I miss me my San Diego sights in Terriers.

Which character in Leverage had autism?

I look forward to Diane Kruger and Demián Bichir's wig disguises.  Diane will need a hot brunette number to work around Juarez.

Back in 2001, I drove across country with a friend who was helping me move back to Southern California from New York.  We took I-40 across, and at one point my car was getting low on fuel.  I had a Shell credit card, but every gas station off the interstate was a Texaco.  I stubbornly refused to get gas, passing

I admit I've never been much of a concert-goer, but Living Colour was the band I saw the most during my years in college in the early 90s. I think I saw them four times, mostly at the Hollywood Palladium. Always a tight, energetic set, and Vernon Reid seemed like he would be the guitar god for my generation.

God, I used to love "Solace Of You". I always wondered why they didn't release it as a single. Perhaps its mellower POP sound was not what the label wanted to present to the world. It was definitely a staple for mix tapes that I would make for friends.

It's been a while since I've had to renew a book from the library, but I had to do it for this one.  I was barely halfway through when my two weeks were up.

Am I crazy, or was there a humorous mid-'80s video with Christine McVie where she's playing her piano, and as the song goes on the set is falling apart around her?  I thought it was "Got A Hold On Me" but that's not the right video.

I'm right there with you on Blood Meridian.  I had to read it for a class (damn, almost 20 years ago now), and I could only get through about 120 pages before I gave up.  The lack of punctuation was like torture, like McCarthy wasn't giving me a mental break and forcing me to read on.  It's one of the few books I can

TEAM OF RIVALS by Doris Kearns Goodwin, about Abraham Lincoln and the cabinet he created from the other Republicans that he defeated for his nomination.  Right in my wheelhouse because I love reading about American History.  About two-thirds of the way through so far.  It's well researched and fairly enjoyable.

It seems like a really divisive movie.  Most of my friends loved it, a few absolutely detested it.  There doesn't seem to be much middle ground. Go see it for yourself, especially since you've been doing so much background reading.

Six bedrooms but only one bathroom. That must be a mess getting out of there in the mornings.

With jazz and conversation.

Jupiter Jones is the only fat protagonist I can remember from the books of my childhood.

I think the word is "ThankGodIt'sNotKidRock".

You can tell that Stevie Nicks had Janis Joplin as one of her childhood idols.  In the '70s and early '80s, she was a fucking force of nature on stage, putting her whole heart and soul up there. Nice article Heller.

Yes.  "Little Lies" and "Everywhere" are excellent.  I love any song where Christine McVie, Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham can work their harmony magic.  "Hold Me" is another great example.

I think I read in the MTV oral history book that Tom Petty wrote this song but thought the other guys in the band would think it was too "girlie" for them to do.  So he got around that problem by making it a duet with Stevie.

And finally, FINALLY there is an opening for a Michael Richards cooking show.

The cut from the commercial back to her embarrassed face buried in her hands was absolutely adorable.  At 2m 37s into the clip:  http://on.cc.com/15meNVo
