I hear ya…something about Vanessa Marcil kept me from changing the channel. A friend and I have had a few "Vanessa Marcil or Eva Longoria?" arguments, which were the logical successor to our endless "Salma Hayek or Penelope Cruz?" discussions.

I'd go:
@avclub-3111c60f45680e4001c9e8dcb40bc7c3:disqus I think a lot of people are touched by the emotional heartstrings that are perfectly plucked in both Wall-E and Ratatouille. Wall-E at its core is about being alone, and playing alone. And it has the wonderful, barely verbal relationship between Wall-E and Eve.…
I think if you're a dog person, Up gets catapulted from very good movie to "WHO'S A GOOD DOGGIE!?!?!" status.
@avclub-126ad03316db7675164e3f0c8be270e9:disqus Dug is hurt, but he still loves you. SQUIRREL!
You've got to be a little more specific than Pasadena. The Pasadena that is Hastings Ranch or Oak Knoll is a world away from the Pasadena in Washington Park.
Maybe you were influenced by the commercials for Black Swan that came on during the episode.
Clara knows her rifles, and that Pete's only packing a .22. I love her.
They almost went to lunch before taking him to the hospital.
@avclub-9349e20458f64c9bfb83b5221e145937:disqus Did Glen mean "sister" as in a close friend sister, or "sister" as in Bob Benson's parents sister?
Don's admonishment of Ted reminded me a lot of Bert Cooper doing the same to Don last season, when he rightfully accused Don of being on "love leave" with Megan.
That was a really fake-looking, alligator-armed fight. Especially since it looked like the wall of the set wobbled when they knocked into it.
For a second I thought Jon Hamm was ad-libbing and Christina Hendricks was cracking in the background. But I'm sure Mr. Weiner hates ad-libbing as much as he hates spoilers.
"Fuck Roger, too much information!"
Everyone hates getting shot in the eye.
This was the song that popped in my head when I saw the title for this article. Of course, it's not specifically about Superman, but the character is a main part of the chorus.
I love Mike Mills' voice on that song. He sounds young, like a plaintive high-schooler. That song could have fit in with '50s teenage pop. I loved how both sides of Life's Rich Pageant ended with quick, catchy numbers, "Superman" on Side B and "Underneath the Bunker" on Side A.
HBO gives out great swag. They had really nice giveaways for Game of Thrones at Comicon.
Poor Pete Campbell. One of the central tenets of the show is how Pete does exactly the same things that Don does, but he can't get away with it because he's not as charming or handsome. Can't beat good genes.
For books and music, I would have to say my sister who is two years older than me. For movies, I would have to say the biggest influence was At The Movies / Siskel & Ebert. If it wasn't for their recommendations, I would have never visited my local arthouse theater and seen gems like Hoop Dreams or Tampopo.
