I liked when the 7 train came out of the ground and into sunlight in Flushing.  I associate it in my mind with either a) getting some good Chinese food or b) knowing I was taking the day off to catch a ballgame at Shea.  I could also look around my train car and think about what former Braves pitcher John Rocker said

How did I miss that view?  I used to live in Queens, and would go visit friends out in Central Jersey, so I drove that stretch of the BQE probably a dozen times to get to the Verrazano and then the Outerbridge.  I just remember having to pay attention to the road because of the curves and the potholes.

I had to go watch Round 6 of Gotti-Ward 2 on Youtube because of that interview.  Too bad the HBO cameras didn't stay on Ward between rounds.

As always, Tasha nails it on the head:  "…stupid character behavior that makes no sense other as a plot-advancement tool."  It's what has turned watching The Walking Dead and Falling Skies into Hate-Watch-And-Mock experiences for me.

As much as I love Dana Gould both live and on other podcasts, and I like his ideas on his own podcast, someone's too-loud cackling laugh (Eddie Pepitone?) is like nails on a chalkboard for me.  I had to stop listening because it was really bugging the shit out of me.

God I loved the Ropers.  Norman Fell stole so many episodes of Three's Company.  Their spinoff was meh, but I felt even a classic comedian like Don Knotts was a step down from the Ropers.

I maintain that the single most devastating joke ever done on these Comedy Central roasts was Jeff Ross destroying Courtney Love on the Pamela Anderson roast.  http://youtu.be/8in24qTx_mI

Yes.  I remember going as a kid, when the Voyager probes were making their trips past Saturn, and we got to line up at the telescope and see Saturn itself.  It was neat to be able to see those rings.

It really is worth visiting.  Rabin nails it on the head when he says it's a bit overwhelming when you see it.  You go up this winding road through the forests of Griffith Park, and then boom! there's a beautiful lawn, and this jewel of a building appears with the backdrop making it look like it's been floating in the
