Wish I made it there
I had an annual company meeting once in Philly. All the spouses/significant others got bused over to the Museum of Art for the afternoon. I wish I had just followed them onto the bus…the meeting was boring, and the reports from the spouses about the museum were really positive.

Another lobotomy
I thought having the Dr. Harris go all Guantanomo on the alien was another out-of-character moment that just served to advance the plot line (the radio interference). Didn't buy that for a second.

The movie was fun when Thor was on earth and played a fish-out-of-water. All the Asgard scenes were really boring, going for weightiness that was as forced as the fake CGI all around. And agree with Henry, the romance with Natalie Portman had no chemistry, no reason for existing.

Hard to watch…
…without Captain Phil around. He was my favorite guy on the show.

This American Life had an episode that told the story of the Press Your Luck guy. He was kind of a sketchy loser that was always looking for the next scam.

I'll have to give Objects in Space another chance. The first time I saw it, it just rang an odd tone compared to other episodes in the series. Maybe it was the existentialist theme, or the quietness of it. I just felt like there were these characters I knew and love, and all of a sudden there was an odd, "Waiting

Incredible display of correct grammar
Wow that's a lot of quotation marks at the end of the second-to-last paragraph.

Ugh commercials
I felt like the pacing on tonight's show was off, mainly because of the constant commercial interruptions. It seemed like the plot would barely be advancing before there was another commercial.

I really am shocked. I have to question Everything That I Know Is Good. Next thing you know, Blizzard will release a piece of shit game. Diablo 3 will suck.

Ray Romano was on a recent podcast on The Sound of Young America (5/23 show) where he talked about the casting of Andre Braugher. At first he thought he was completely wrong for the part, because he had the intense, fit cop from Homicide in mind, and was thinking of casting more of a slobby comedian. But Braugher

The Firefly theme eventually became okay, and it does fit the show. But I have to admit, the first two or three times I heard it, I had the stinkface, "WTF!?!?!" reaction to it.

Hey, I liked that song too. Perfect summer pop-rock song. And popularized by a Vegas commercial too. There should be an inventory of songs made popular by commercials:

So many great little moments in tonight's show
This show just has all these little bits that make me laugh. More stuff I'd add to Stray Observations:

I would happily submit…
…to my decapitation from my Pixar overlords. If it means they can keep putting out great movies.

I actually think of Incredibles as their spy film. The whole evil madman on an island-thing made me think it was the best Bond movie in years.

I thought for sure he was going to truck over Marcus, but once again, this show surprises me.

LOL!
HE RAN OVER THE GIRL!

Holy God that was a lot of fun
I normally enjoy the Random Roles feature on this site, but rarely have I read an interview where both the interviewer and the subject were both having so much fun. Loved all the behind-the-scenes anecdotes, and I loved that it went on for three whole pages. Definitely an interview

The Wire
When I watched the first season of The Wire, I mistook Jim True-Frost for Dustin Diamond. For like the first four episodes I was yelling at the screen, "Why the fuck is Screech on this show!??! It's totally distracting to have this asshole on screen. It's ruining my immersion in an otherwise excellent

I subscribe to the "home movies" idea myself, although your comment has gotten me to thinking: do these characters feel like they've been together since college, or even further back to childhood? My gut feel is that they at least went through some dopey, awkward mid-teen times together.
