I am very relieved that Hamilton Nolan is no longer writing on The Concourse. I go to Deadspin for sports and the occasional fart joke and appreciate when it is made clear to me when I am getting something other than those two important topics.

Good site, hopefully it will aim the political content back to a central space that can focus on it. Then Gizmodo can focus more on tech (and hopefully spin io9 back off) and Deadspin commenters can get back to complaining about videogame articles and making bad jokes.

I would say that it is definitely morphing into a central news hub, but I wouldn’t call it a Gawker replacement. The only website that was ever like Gawker was Gawker.
