Someone Else's Liver

For sure, I agree with your general point. I’m glad to see more non-white stars in the spotlight, though, and I hope it’s going to continue.

Is Henry Golding not East Asian? He’s Malaysian, I think — is that south rather than east? (I’m not sure.)

I had somehow never even heard of Welcome to Marwen until now. It sounds really interesting, I’m going to check it out.

The book is one of my favourites — gorgeous and terrifying. I’m really curious to see the film version.

It is so completely uninteresting. I thought it was maybe just because I don’t love Maya Rudolph the way I’m supposed to (she’s the only part of The Good Place I don’t enjoy)? But I think it would be boring with any actors.

She is the absolute worst. I’ve never understood why The Star continues to publish her.

She’s been the worst “columnist” at the Star for a long time now. Any time I catch myself unexpectedly disgusted by a piece, I realize it’s because I forgot to check the byline for her name first. She’s dreadful and I’ve never understood why they publish her.

Here is how bad I am at fashion: I love both their outfits and would have described them pretty much the same (lovely long jacket thing and cool hat with a purse or whatevs).

I am so confused by Nora’s age.  The actress is 35ish but the character seems to be more like...16?

I was SO confused by the Fiji detail.

I suuper loved Look at Me -- somehow had never encountered it as a creepypasta so it totally worked for me.

Yeah, I was creeped out by face at the window because it was short and there was no real explanation for the face except some terrifying creeper. Shudder. The others were a bit overwritten for me.

Which was yours?  Link please :-)

Yes. I’ve never realized how terrifying the concept of landlords is — they have keys to your house! They get to check your references but you can’t check theirs! Mine is great but ... what if he isn’t?

Yes. I am so excited for this film and happy to wait a little longer.

I think that was Tycho Brahe.  Why do I know this?

Splice! So creepy.

Yes, to me it was dim and the contrast seemed way down...I thought it was because I’d (accidentally) seen it in 3D, which I don’t do often, but I don’t remember anything as bad as this with other 3D films.

Ooh, I have not seen RAN. Looks amazing; thank you for recommending this.

Yes, I saw Unfriended recently, it was surprisingly compelling.
