Pro bull riding has always seemed really dangerous to me. Is this a case of “dangerous-seeming thing is, in fact, dangerous, and this kind of thing is to be expected” or “dangerous-seeming thing is actually pretty safe, and this is a freak accident”?

I’ve been craving casserole lately, but my kid is allergic to milk. Anyone have a non-dairy casserole they like?

Pfft, see, this is why I refuse to have any always-listening devices plugged in around my house. I’m perfectly content using the always-listening device I carry around in my pocket, instead.

Oh, yeah, I mean, the difference in price between staying on property vs off property is crazy, and if you expand “off property” to nontraditional accommodations like timeshare rentals or vacation home rentals, you can get some pretty great deals. Easily the biggest lever you can use to lower your WDW costs.

I’d be a little surprised if they make renting points much harder, since the ability to rent points out seems to be a big part of the rationale many people use when they’re deciding to buy into DVC, and DVC sure seems to be a cash cow for Disney these days.

If you want to stay on-property, renting Disney Vacation Club (basically, Disney’s timeshare program) points can sometimes save you money. Sometimes the other hotel discounts are better, but it’s worth checking on DVC point rentals.

I mean, there are lots of things that people SHOULD do that slow the game down. I could see courses discouraging flag tending to speed up pace of play. Not that it’ll actually make much of a difference, but it wouldn’t be the dumbest pace-of-play push I’ve seen. Seems like it’s only a matter of time before we’re all

If people stop tending the flagstick, that’ll be a big change, at least among the recreational golfers I know.

And a knife. This recipe sounds tasty, but "saves on cleanup" doesn't seem to be one of its virtues.

I’m trying to cut back on calories (and, relatedly, avoid artificial sweeteners), which makes it hard to find something to pay for at my local bar. I used to pretty routinely go to the bar, watch a game/shoot the shit for a couple of hours, spend about $40 on the bill and $10 on tips, and consider it money well spent.

Wait, are Sugar Ray and the Spin Doctors still touring together? I saw them together in, like, 2001 or 2002, when Sugar Ray was relevant and Spin Doctors were a throwback.

I know we’ve gotten pretty good at sorting out commerce content from editorial content, but as a reader, “We Live. We Die.” is a hell of a headline to encounter on Deadspin when everyone is worried about Drew.

I know we’ve gotten pretty good at sorting out commerce content from editorial content, but as a reader, “We Live.

“Doing well under the circumstances” is what I said to people when my kid was in the NICU. It means, roughly, “I’m trying to stay optimistic and I’d like you to leave me alone.”

The most head-scratching thing about Baines’ selection is all the people who say you can’t compare his stats to steroid-era stats. We’re talking about a guy who peaked in his early 20s, then became teammates with Jose Canseco, and then racked up counting stats for another decade-plus, playing to age 42 despite having

I selected the hammiest recipe; meaning, no other animal proteins were added in.

Thanks for this! I couldn’t remember his exact age. I guess that makes more sense.

I’ve become rather curious about Abe’s backstory this season, especially with the “coming to Steiner for 27 straight years” thing. By my math, that means 1933-1959. Like, they started going on lavish summer vacations in the middle of the Great Depression, with two little kids, and then they just kept right on doing

FAFSA-based aid doesn’t count retirement accounts as assets (whether it’s the parent or the student), but if the student withdraws money from their IRA, that’s considered income for the student.

So much this. I used to work for a company where we could often tell when a user was being attacked by malware. We tried alerting customers for a while, but most of them came away with the idea that either our software was malware or our system was compromised, which meant we'd lose the customer and take a reputation

When did companies start calling all of their regional offices “headquarters”? Twitter HQ is in San Francisco. This asshole chained herself to some random regional office because she couldn’t be bothered to go to HQ.
