To arm teachers, we must presume that all teachers are people who are prepared to kill someone if need be. I think if you polled the population and asked “if a stranger walked into this room right now and you thought he was dangerous, could you kill him?” we would find a low percentage. I don’t think making this a…
Oh god, we just started working in the “open plan” and it is a NIGHTMARE. I feel exposed and unsafe — totally weird. And if I go to the lunchroom to get away at lunch and read... people come and TALK to me. AUGHHHH.
I do not even need the sound on for that clip any more. The music just starts right up IN MY BRAIN.
Boxers attain sentience and try to get elected to Congress?
I recently had this sad conversation with a young co-worker in Madison:
I find your ideas intriguing and wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

Oh dear. That sounds exhausting. I did manage to fall on my knee at the very beginning of the trip myself. and my limping did not really enhance the experience. There sure are a lot of stairs in London!
Oh, yeah, I feel you there. There are a LOT of tourists in Prague. I also had that “surrounded” feeling in Egypt — at some of the historical sites you could hear seven languages other than Arabic. You were really in a herd of gawkers and without a local friend, that’s pretty much what you would end up with.
Hmm, that’s interesting. I loved Prague, even just the walking around and pointing at things on menus that we couldn’t decipher. I’m trying to think what a non-touristy thing to do is... hang out in locals spots? Every place I drank beer had locals in it. There’s lots of theater there besides what they push at…
I very much regret my approach to the city of London.
