I wasn’t shocked when I was at a conference, probably 2005-ish where Musk blew off a keynote with a bunch of real space engineers in the room. Sent his VP, and ex-USAF guy, who actually knew his stuff. They don’t let Musk touch anything at SpaceX, best I can tell.
