I remember the thrill of playing phantasy star online on the dreamcast. You would drop your wepon when you died. You had a chance to pick it up again but if you died a second time it was lost for good. Oh, and your teammates could pick up your weapon too, then log out and take your stuff.

I remember the ps2 game Dark Cloud. It has a weapon system that also had a damage counter. No problems there. It’s part of the game, made do with what the game lets you do.
