As a fan of cheap cars that I believe should be remade into whatever image their owner thinks might work, I disagree. Let people enjoy cars for what they want out of them. If the next guy thinks it needs an engine swap, even better.

My god I totally forgot about that Rancho. A few people in my neighborhood had those when I was growing up.
The Model T: a mechanical mule. Simple and tough and stubborn as hell. Distracted diving would bite you-hard! You froze or boiled and fighting the wheel would make you ache, as would the ‘suspension’. By God, you learned to be aware of every odd noise or twitch!
And people say there’s no car culture any more.
