I remember both being surprised and not surprised when a few months ago I saw a Fuego sitting by the side of the freeway with it’s hood up.

That was actually something tought in Driver’s Ed. I remember my teacher/instructor reaching over and turning off the key of the school’s LTD as we were approching a 90 degree bend (with no runoff besides a ditch either). It took some serious muscle to get that beast around the corner! Do that today and I’d bet you’d

I can't imagine a muffler shop would charge you much to take care of it or if nothing else perhaps you could find a friend with a pair of ramps and a fridge that needs some beer?

In all fairness my intent with identity checks was not to have folks use their real names but as a way for CL to have buyer/seller ratings like eBay does and to insist on one identity for sellers no matter what that identify is (ie: you could call yourself Batman if you want but you need to stick with it).

Unless your down pipe is rotted away there should be some inexpensive solutions to your problem even if it's a beer can and two hose clamps...

Better yet do the deal at the buyers bank and get a cashiers check there. I just sold a car and thats what we did. Lots less risk that way as you know that the check is good before you hand over the title.

IMHO Craiglist needs to go to an eBay-like system where people get rated and have to submit a credit card or somthing for indentification purposes. Not only will this hopefully make it safer it might cut down on no-shows.

It pretty much has to be the 2CV, doesn’t it? The only car I can think of where the road holding Gs are controlled by whether the axle half-shafts have popped out of the differential or not...

I’m wondering if it only shows the ones nearby, I'm seeing nothing at all here in Seattle. Either that or the web page doesn't work with an iPad...

According to barefooters.org you are correct out barefoot driving. The only restriction is that Alabama prevents barefoot motorcycle riding.

It’s not Fords “My Ford Touch”, it’s Microsofts so let’s put the blame where it’s really deserved. However in fairness as the current owner of a Fiesta ST and the previous owner of a Fiesta SES the current version of MFT is not that bad though the non-touch version of Sync in the SES stunk. Every month I would have to

Some of us just like convertibles, even ones that might only be useful for kids to sit behind the wheel and make varoom-varoom noises as it sits up in blocks in the back yard...

Time for some education. The Corvair pictured is a 1966 model with the Corvette’s 4-link rear suspension. I have one just like this and you could not flip it if you tried all day long. The problem was with the earlier ’60-’63 models with the VW-style swing-axle suspension. With those cars the recommended tire

Interestingly this is exactly what Space-X is planning to do with the Falcon 9 Heavy, strap 27 engines together (in three strapped-together boosters of 9 each). The difference I suspect is in computers and perhaps a little in the ability to test each stack separately before launching the whole thing at once. Since the

My dad had an SM just identical to this one when I was in college. If we still had it today I’d take it to my reunion in a second. But if I had a choice of all of the cars my dad had and sold it would be his Duesenberg-engined 1932 Packard roadster. That made quite a statement in high school (yes my dad let me drive

You know if the BBC was smart they’d just sell the whole Top Gear franchise, lock, stock and barrel to another network. Without Clarkson, Hammond, May and Wilman pretty much all they have is an empty hanger, some runway and maybe The Stig (though it would not surprise me if His Royal Stigness has quit too). Together

It can however buy a Miata and of all of the things I have bought in my life I don’t think there is another one that’s brought me as much happiness as my now 25-year-old Miata because not only is it a blast to drive but because of all of the new people it’s brought into my life.

My first car in high school was a grey ’64 Continental with a red leather interior. Unfortunately it only got 6 mpg which was unaffordable for a high school student during the first gas crisis. It was replaced by my dad’s mauve ’60 Cadillac (15 mpg) and a few months later with the ’66 Corvair convertible (24 mpg) that

Interestingly BMW’s secret to using carbon fiber so extensively in their vehicles is their carbon fiber plant in Moses Lake, Washington.

Interesting trivia, at the time that this car ran both STP and Paxton were owned by the Studebaker-Worthington corporation, what Studebaker was called after they stopped building cars. So in some ways this car can be considered the last Studebaker!
