Check the egg carton pile for one on top that’s already filling up with cracked eggs. Polite old school was that you swap cracked eggs for an intact spares so to not keep piling up cartons with one cracked egg each for everybody else to dig through.

The cheapest brand I found is $9/liter, at least three times the price of canola oil. That would be about 50￠ per 22￠of popcorn.

It seems obvious that unsealed popcorn dries out and doesn’t pop well, worsening with age. I tried soaking some terrible popcorn but it had no effect; my theory was moisture getting out might mean I could put some back in.

That’s exactly what it feels like. I hope corporations don’t think this is invisible. Fits right into my theory of everything.
