Do the books become increasingly incredulous too? It’s starting to resemble Doctor Who, or history as travelogue and exciting adventure.

Worst hour of television I’ve watched in a while (the guy playing the priest was so much better than the terrible role he was given). Everything else - including Jamie now conveniently being captain of his own ship - merely confirms that the writing has abandoned ship.
Best episode of the season, by far.
I thought this was the best episode of the season.
I’m not sure anything is so obvious - or transparent - anymore. I don’t doubt that the allegations against him are true, but I’m uncertain as to what constitutes sexual harassment in the eyes of the law (trial by media is another case entirely).
So, it takes five episodes to get good? No thanks.
You’ve just described an incredibly funny and interesting film.
I’ve really been enjoying this season and prefer it to the first. The show’s manic energy - combined with Olaf’s grounded (and rounded) presence - have somehow meshed perfectly for me. Episode 4 was an early highlight for me. So I’m kind of surprised to hear that someone else might be struggling with it (although I do…
Bros before hoes is a really subversive message.
Fantastic article, except where you allow yourself a glimmer of hope. This ‘moral reckoning’ will only be a passing trend if the media doesn’t continue to have victims’ backs....and they’ll only get belatedly involved when the abuse becomes a pattern.
They were just rumors back then...and they’ve become true since they were officially reported on.
What’s interesting - and troubling - is that it has taken a media ‘trend’ or ‘bandwagon’ - for many open secrets to be publicly aired.
But he was only joking...and female comedians can’t take a joke when they’re (allegedly) being sexually abused.
If the rumors are true (about the New York Times publishing a story regarding the other ‘rumors’), shit is about to hit the fan and/or get real.
Lee not only didn’t admit to shooting Gamby, he also failed to query how the disguise got in his car in the first place.
This season has been a real drag - it appears to have lost the plot as well as any sense of perspective or momentum. Did the books also have trouble regaining their bearings or narrative justification after the Battle of Culloden?
The better scenario is that Lee put Abbot up to shooting Gamby (via manipulation) and she is punishing both of them for the betrayals.
Well, duh.
I can only be theoretically excited because season 2 became a road trip to nowhere : it kept moving in circles as it slowly went down the drain.
