typically i would agree, but the clickity clack of the keys is in a frequency range pretty close to vocal ranges. Phone mics are tuned specifically to those types of frequencies, so I don't think it would be all that bad at it. The CPU processing though to filter out white noise / etc might be tough though.

why does it use the accelerometer? I thought people were doing this via sound? I would think the microphone would work from a further distance, although of course also being thwarted by turning on the radio possibly.

way to not tell me until i was already leaving for work.

i think apple is pretty good at wrapping up existing tech in pretty new boxes. I've never seen apple as a serious innovation machine in the electronics world. They acquisition stuff they want to incorporate into their products. Their devices aren't really cutting edge except that they are well packaged.

sometimes i feel i am uniquely over qualified for the real world, as the widely coveted skill of bullshitting gives one a distinct advantage against the competition.

from experience i can tell you that most engineering degrees come with a free minor of bullshit.

"She's right we gotta get to the computer to kill this thing" I don't see how that fits... ;P

as chuck testa would say... Nope.

the n770, n800, series were great devices. I loved mine for sure. There's no way they'd call this one an n800. Now if it was the nokia 800 or something similar that might make more sense. But the liklihood of a product team naming their product the same as one in existence would undermine the whole PR campaign of the

lol

no i didn't notice. i don't own any apple products, so it didn't stick out to me. maybe he's holding the phone upside down?

well if it doesn't, i can say for a fact that NI does read their message boards regularly. Great place to post a discussion about it.

who said that's not a groupie? lol

maybe he just wanted to listen to it on his laptop speakers?

dude whatever. I've been an NI beta tester for over 10 years. I'm familiar with almost all of their products.

i'm sure it crossed his mind. But i'm actually really surprised at the quality of the samples from the built in mic. That's actually really good sounding for how shitty i was expecting it to be.

what are you talking about? He probably just emailed the mp3 of it to himself?

i love NI. This is awesome. Ipad + app is almost a little cheaper than the real thing. For the first time I'm really considering an ipad.

hahaha that was my exact thought. Also "what book was she reading?"

more likely panty hose. Impromptu wind screen.
