Damn, I'd hoped this would happen while I was still young enough to register for the draft, so I could then refuse to register!

Nice article, thank you. I particularly agree that planning is fun :)

I am with you Nom! I am forced to leave my liberal New England enclave regularly to visit relatives in Jax. What a depressing place.
I think you nailed it in one - "stupid." Brainwashed by religi0n and horribly educated.
Miami to Palm Beach is liberal, but not Jacksonville. I am forced to go there to visit my father regularly (retired military). It is holy roller crackertown.
I didn't find myself really caring whether she was alive, considering she put her child in arm's reach of a loaded gun. But her being alive is a plus, because now she has to live down those stupid Facebook posts! (And it's easier on the kid when the adults eventually tell him this story.)
Agree, extremely upsetting. Anyone I know who voices support for that racist, misogynist SOB is getting cut out of my life - permanently. I don't want to know them.
The problem is, there's a good chunk of the population that don't care about women. Their attitudes aren't about to change.
Well, as the repugs constant efforts to repeal the Healthcare Act show, they have no problem telling people with diabetes, heart disease, cancer, etc., etc. that they should be on the hook to pay ruinous medical bills. As a single and “mature” (I refuse to be called an old) - I don’t blame my unconventional lifestyle so much as I blame all my once-friends who turned out to be horribly conventional :) I use Meetup to regularly get together with people who share common hobbies (photography & writing), and that can be a pleasant break,…
So many little boats...
Absolutely...and so can rum!
So many stars for you :)
There are some pretty great stories that do exist though. I own a book published shortly after the war about a black woman who would
Same reaction - how many times do we need to use the naïve point of view for the protagonist? "The new young nurse no one is sure of" is as boring a story as it gets. And the contrast of the plucky northern woman and over-dressed Southern belle made we wonder if this was being made for the American Girl doll crowd.
The CDC didn’t say that Zika causes microcephaly (particularly as the disease has been around in other parts of the world and that hasn’t been observed as a symptom before).
Problem line: “But maybe, in the end, that means the similarly aged men and women who wait to settle down may just have to settle for each other.”
