Get out of here with your actually paying attention to what you’re watching.

As always, I am hesitant to reply to comments with the knowledge that the Kinja system elevates Staff contributions and thus the comments themselves, but I want to address this since I’ve seen it pop up a couple of times in my notifications.

Its not out of the blue though. She’s killed innocents before. When she sacked Meereen, she killed 163 random people in retribution for the crucified children. Not to mention burning the Tarly’s and Varys. She’s shown to be more than willing to use fire to strike out at those who’ve wronged her, and she feels wronged

All through the seasons up until the end:

She’s been getting crueler and more focused on the throne as an end despite the means for a while now. Then in the last few episodes she lost Jorah, another of her children, Missandei, and her claim on the throne.  Oh and the love of her life betrayed her and made it clear they couldn’t be together romantically

I’ve never seen Daenerys as a sweet empathetic queen. She’s always been arrogant, impetuous, self-aggrandizing, and obsessed with the throne. Which didn’t make her worse than most other characters, but certainly she was not much better.

She’s been this way the whole time; it’s not surprising to me people couldn’t see it because she’s just a cute little blonde with a good girl power narrative.

Sorry, are you talking about Dani? The one who burns alive anyone who doesn’t follow her or bend to her will? The one who “liberates” foreigners as long as they help her ascend to the throne so she can rule over them? She’s been just as ruthless and bloodthirsty as anyone else in this series.

That Dany was in danger of crossing a line has been in the books and show for a very long time. There have been cracks in her empathy and humanity throughout going all the way back to her reaction to Viserys’s death. She’s gone for mass murder more than once and usually in horrific ways — Qarth, Vaes Dothrak, various

People in denial so hard they’re pushing the narrative of the bells being the deciding factor and not literally everything leading up to the moment. It’s also obvious which fans are strictly Twitter based by how upset they didn’t get their YASS QUEEN moment in a series about tyrants and their decisions leading to the

At no point in time has she ever been sweet and empathetic. She’s always been a conqueror, this is just the first time she didn’t have an easy way out (freeing slaves = instant loyalty). After rewatching this series a few times, her instinct is always to burn and now that her advisors are spent, she’s gonna burn.

Wife: How was the episode?

The stoicism was always a poker face, and the world finally called her bluff.

All week I’ve been perplexed by so many people complaining that the show all of a sudden started hinting that Daenerys was a mad queen. They’ve literally been building this up for the entire show!

Sweet queen that crucified and torched her enemies, but whatever.

I definitely disagree. All of her assumptions proved wrong, and her entire world finally fell apart around her. Everyone she counted on has died except her twin brother, who showed up with a presumably mortal wound. Seems perfectly reasonable that she’d fall apart at that moment.

Plus, assuming she was really pregnant.

The endless whining in this and other comment boards about a mad queen going mad is genuinely tiring.

I agree but then what did you expect would happen. I don't know what else could happen

haha, you’re crazy, that was awesome.

Have you not seen City Slickers 2?
