I started to get tired from it when Old Gods was released. Nothing to make me stop playing yet, but then I started to think: “ok, let’s wait, there’ll be new expansions, things will get better”. Then Gadgetzan came. At first it was a joy! The first week or two after a new expansion is the best time to play

I understand perfectly what you’re saying, and I was at the same place a few months ago. What I did was uninstalling it from my phone and tablet, playing it only on my computer. Then I spent two weeks on vacations, away from my PC. When I came back home, I started playing a short but involving game (Life is Strange),

Well, to be fair I need to make an update to my comment: at least they’re offering a discount for backers of the original Pillars of Eternity (just got an e-mail with the details).

These crowdfunds are getting too expensive. I was glad to back more than a dozen projects in the past, including Pillars of Eternity (then, just “Project Eternity”), but now they’re asking too much for the entry-level backing (with game reward). Same thing with Banner Saga 3 and plenty of others. I’m out. A shame, i

“Never assume you’re smarter than the person fixing your computer. If you were you wouldn’t be talking to them”.

Now, that’s just one stupid thing to say. Being able to fix a computer isn’t a “I’m smarter than you” certification, it only shows you that the “techie” is more apt on a specific set of skills and that’s

That would be great! NES and SNES controllers are certainly more nostalgia-rich, but IMHO, the Saturn controller (Japanese version) is the best non-analogue controller ever made.

Thanks Kyxsune. If you find it interesting and worthy of your time, I’d recommend the book “Play Between Worlds” (T.L. Taylor). It’s more accessible to english speakers and deal with MMOs (mainly Everquest) under a cultural perspective. It was very important to my work.

There’s somewhat new interdisciplinary field

Ooops! And only now did I notice your reply, sorry! And thanks! Your graduation final work theme looks nice to me but (as a nerd, I guess I find almost every field interesting :P).
Valeu o interesse! E, se depois quiser entrar em contato para qualquer dúvida ou discutir o tema, no capítulo “Anexo A” do documento tem

He may never find a replacement for Asheron’s Call, that’s one of the problems with MMOs: once they’re gone, no other game will ever feels like it did. :(
I played City of Heroes for years and in vain tryed MMO after MMO, searching for something that would give me the same feeling, but there’s none, and there’ll never

What, no Top Gear (1 or 2)? No Contra III? No Super Ghouls’n Ghosts? No Rock’n Roll Racing? No UN Squadron (Area 88)? No EVO? Not even Super Bomberman?

I call this list bogus, sirs! :)

I’d wouldn’t even blink if I had to take one of the following games in place of those I previously mentioned:

Me and my group, we believe Eldritch Horror (EH) does not improve on Arkham Horror (AH) and it’s actually worse than AH.

You see, Fantasy Flight Games (FFG) - the maker of them both - is infamous in the hobby for producing only games with high potential for expansions and releasing an almost endless stream of said

I question many of your conclusions.

- NES-101 came too late to the game to be relevant. By 1993 we were already at the end of the 4th generarion. People were talking about the consoles of the next generation, one year later Playstation and Saturn were launched. Yes, it vastly improved the NES, but at the time, who

To me, there’s no game able to surpass the greatness of Warcraft II soundtrack. Even nowadays I listen to it while driving.

I’m not saying it’s impossible, but I wish good luck to anyone trying to read (and understand) 135 pages of auto-translated academic text! :)

Thanks for being interested, and I can certainly share it (here: http://repositorio.ufpe.br/handle/1234567…), but it’s in Portuguese (I’m Brazilian)... I believe the chances of you being able to read Portuguese are quite slim, am I right? ^_^’

I’m fascinated by gaming history and the death of Kerafyn, The Sleeper is one of the most interesting events to happen in a MMO. I actually wrote a bit about it on my Master’s degree dissertation (and will probably dedicate a page or two of my PhD thesis to talk about it). Thanks for the great read!

Back when everyone was drooling about FFVII, I was having a blast playing Wild Arms. I regret nothing! :D

Phantasy Star, for Master System. It not only defined my childhood, it defined my life. I was already in love with videogames since Atari 2600, but Phantasy Star changed me.

There’s also one more job option (the one I picked): a games researcher/academic/professor. I have to play, because it’s my field of study :)

Complying doesn’t always mean you’ll live, that’s right.
But reacting by pulling a gun not only won’t guarantee your life, but most studies show it’ll actually increase your chance of dying.
