Unless you’re marrying an officer, it’s a raw deal for women. Enlisted men don’t make that much, they move every two years, and you’re stuck being a single mom/spouse most of the time*. That’s why military wives are fertile ground for MLM scams. There’s not much career stability for a spouse.

That’s because newsrooms are still full of white men. As far as they’re concerned, pregnancy and abortion are women’s issues that do not affect them.
