Actually the appropriate weapon to use to hold up an ice cream truck is a flamethrower. Either I get ice cream, or nobody gets ice cream.

This is what lemon laws are for, no?
In the event such a thing were to happen I’d just look at a different EV, realistically.
Charging at work will be. Supercharging will be an option that I’ll pay for happily.
Huh, today I learned. Nice catch, thanks.
Not 100% sure yet, really depends a lot on what sort of option packages there end up being and what the final cost is. If it ends up costing me ~$45-50, I’ll probably keep the XLR around. If it’s ending up around the $60k range, I’ll likely sell it.
Not all plug-ins seem to have access from what I can see, unless the DMV’s list is in need of an update. The i3 is listed, but not the 330e.
Haha thanks. It’s not an “amazing” car but I really like it for my purposes. It’s comfortable, has enough gizmos to keep me reasonably happy, and doesn’t mind getting sideways :)
Preorder, placeholder, order option, deposit, whatever. It’s a full refundable glob of cash that puts me earlier in the line if I choose to execute my option to order. The only potential downside of putting the money there is the highly improbable implosion of Tesla. Not like it was doing any good in my “discretionary…
Ok, so you’re judging something you’ve never used. That’s fine, just make sure you’re being fair about it.
Sure, but it’s such a minor thing that it doesn’t REALLY factor into the purchase, it’s just a nice little perk.
Went and checked The List to verify, by the way, and the 3 series hybrid isn’t on the approved single-occupant HOV access list. The i3 is, though.
Doesn’t change the fact that I’ll have them. I could technically charge the BMW at work, but it’d be out of battery before I was home again so it’s moot.
I continue to be interested in bottom views of various cars that were, moments before the photo was taken, operated by halfwits.
I’ll be curious to see if that holds up in the long run, especially against the Model 3. I could very well end up being wrong about the maintenance side of things. Hopefully not, though.
As it turns out, you’re right about the plug-in getting HOV access. I wasn’t honestly aware of that.
As for the rest… well, I’ll address them point-by-point:
Properly designed, proper car: You’re giving a lot of credit to a brand not exactly brimming with reliability. There are worse, and there are better. I’m calling…
Have you personally, actually used it? I’m curious.
HOV: I’m not above bribery ;) In truth it doesn’t even affect me much, since I rarely go anywhere where it’d make a difference, but it’s a nice-to-have if I decide to go into the city for something.
The maintenance side of thing may or may not make a difference. I absolutely *hate* having to deal with the weird…
Fascinating. Pro tips, thanks!
That’s fine. I’ll start worrying what strangers think about my vehicle, fashion or computing choices when they start paying me enough to care.
Hm, interesting. My only followers appear to be myself (not 100% sure how I managed that, but rolling with it) and some other wonderful person… ah well, we shall see where it goes.
