That’s the most charitable, steel manning interpretation of these actions.

People certainly do “blink”. There’s plenty of videos and articles about the ridiculous prices of all vehicles and domestic full-size trucks specifically. Volvo is certainly a luxury brand now, but 80K is still a lot.
I assume it’s a poor attempt of ironic humor, but who knows.
I’d be surprised if any Kia model at any trim level doesn’t offer CarPlay and Android Auto support. It might be wired, but it’ll be there. The choice by some manufacturers to not support them, is baffling to me.
Probably since these are cops and they’re usually lazy and soft. Those Polaris carts don’t have AC, is probably what it comes down to. Also, the inflated budgets of police departments means they’re incentivized to use it or lose it, so they spend it on stuff they don’t need, like a mid-size truck for beach patrol.
The dealerships in this area are all pretty shitty.
If you’re open to leasing (and really, leasing is the best/safest way to buy an EV right now bc of how quickly the technology develops), Hyundai and Kia make great ones at similar prices. Leasing allows them to get the $7,500 fed tax credit, but double check that’s part of the lease deal, of course, but they almost…
Also, find it a bit funny that my first comment in response to you is a comment in agreement, and the first sentence in your reply is a mild argument / dismissal of my point...and your own, lol. Making it extra funny is your long diatribe against adaptive cruise right afterwards, which I agree with (though I don’t…
Yes, of course I know it can be turned off or overridden, but it can be potentially dangerous in the time it takes to do either of those things. It’s trying to be safer and helpful, but can be the exact opposite.
When I was buying a new car in 2018, one of the driver “assistance” “features” I expressly avoided was the lane assist you describe, the ones that actually take control away from you. I don’t mind a beep, but always thought that the systems that take control away were more dangerous than helpful.
You’re assuming the Hertz employee knows those things. I agree, they should, but it’s a roll of the dice if they actually do. Plus, I wouldn’t be surprised if they hadn’t scheduled enough staff to cover the front desk while the employee helped out.
F*ck this guy.
One would think, but I would venture that a lot of people who still qualify based on yearly individual or family income, are shopping 70K+ vehicles. Not a smart financial decision, but I’d bet it’s happening.
Ah, ok. I missed that and it wasn’t clear from you comment. With that being the case, then yeah, the Kia is cheaper.
Unfortunately the KIA EV6 GT doesn’t qualify for any Federal government rebates because of the new rules around batteries. So, even with a 4K difference between MSRP, they’re more expensive than the Ford’s which do qualify for the Federal government rebates.
I think they’re simply priced too high as well. Model Y is a few grand cheaper even before the EV rebate. Plus the charging network. It’s hard to compete against that.
Hyundai and Kia are going to have to start offering some hefty factory/manufacturer rebates to move their EVs are leave them languishing on the dealership lots. Good to great cars kneecapped by the Inflation Reduction Act EV rebate changes, sad to say.
Smart, and something every pedestrian crossing a street should do. Unfortunately, getting increasingly hard to do with the higher percentage of vehicles on the road with illegal levels of window tint which make making eye contact with the driver (or anyone else in the vehicle) impossible.
I hope everyone at that company starts looking for a new job, leaving this jackass CEO high and dry.
Come on, you can do better as a troll. Put some actual effort into it. GET IT DONE!
