I liked it well enough too. The proper Civ titles were far better of course, but it was a nice game for what it was and I know people who have enjoyed it who have never touched a mainline Civ game.

You can’t play video games and read about the on the internet too without having to deal with this bullshit. If you enjoy it, go for it. I liked the tone of this article very much.
I think the running thing is just a bad decision. The idea of walking slowly through every backtracking segment of this game is not a good thing.
I wouldn’t compare it to Death Stranding personally. The open world elements of Shenmue were pretty revolutionary at the time and games since have adopted them as norms. The stuff Shenmue did that was new at the time we now take for granted in video games. I don’t think anything Death Stranding does that’s new will…
After the first couple hours, I more or less agree. The game “sticks to its roots”, which we knew would be the case from past footage, but sometimes it’s to a fault. Or it’s just lazy/shoddy design in some places. I’m not sure which.
As I’ve said elsewhere, what is the obsession people have with being able to play a video game any time, anywhere? Is it really necessary to be able to stream Destiny on your phone for 15-minutes while waiting for your table at a restaurant? Not to mention how often you’re going to be without Wi-Fi in such situations.
It says more about what the hell has happened with game installs than it does Stadia when being able to play a game immediately after buying it is described as “exhilarating”.
Doom Eternal being pushed back makes it look so much worse. At least with that game, people could talk themselves into trying a new thing when they bought the game instead of just on their usual console.
Maybe if the quality wasn’t one notch above the show Reboot people would be more into it? Good lord. Stiff animation and not the most detailed in general.
Looks decent for at least a light workout. I just wish there was a dedicated co-op or two-player element, even if it meant having to buy two rings.
Totally agree. Pull out a banged up GBC or GBA and fire up a game. The screen will legitimately give you eye strain and even if it doesn’t, you’ll be wishing the entire time that it wasn’t so dim and bland. Unless you’re one of the extreme few who is willing and able to do a screen mod, this is an interesting…
You know what would be great? A Magic game that was limited to everything up to Ice Age, or shortly after. The game was much cleaner and fun before they started adding every rule and ability imaginable just to keep the cash register ringing. You can actually learn all the cards, combos, etc. without making it a…
Ninja Gaiden 3 is not very good. I’m not saying don’t download it, but I got it for about $6 about five years ago and was glad I didn’t pay anymore.
If anyone is looking for a middle ground here, I would say not being so stingy with vacation time would be it. Everyone simply having a few weeks off a year as a standard would help a lot. That way the vast majority of people would at least have the time they need for emergencies, a few mental health days, and *gasp*…
Are they? Keenum admittedly had a horrible, horrible game. That said, the Bears D is pretty awesome and most of the fan outrage is only because they see Daniel Jones stepping in and doing well. In other words, they’re comparing apples and oranges in a way that only shouty NFL fans can do. Things can get MUCH worse…
I’m shocked that an advertisement in the form of a video game didn’t take the time to do justice to an incredibly niche game genre that most people in the world aren’t even aware of.
This actually wasn’t terrible. It was pretty much a stripped down version of Hitman or Splinter Cell, and worst case you could grab the easy achievements if so inclined.
Yeah I really do hate this. The silver lining though is that tanking, while possibly the best way to actually build a franchise, has its limits. Maybe Fitzpatrick would’ve been willing to stick around if they lost a couple competitive games and/or management talked to him personally about wanting him to be a part of…
I tend to agree. Now you could certainly make the argument that that game can’t under any circumstances be discussed without exploring the allegations against Brown. Whether I completely agree with that or not I’d have to think more about.
Do you remember MGSV’s trailer? Fucking took my breath away. One of my favorite trailers for anything ever. Then you buy the game and realize there’s a fuck ton wrong with it and that the trailer was the best part about the game.
