Depends on the M-car apparently. Had three E36 M3s that required at least a quart each between changes, but have an E46 M3 that hasn’t used a drop yet. Which is good because Castrol TWS 10w60 ain’t cheap!

I’m into it. The first modern BMW I’d really consider buying (or more likely leasing. 3 year rental M!)
I agree with the sentiment here, but a 0-60 time is probably the least interesting thing about a sporting BMW...
Inspired by a Clarkson quote from S13E07 I assume?
Yep, I have one of the German triple-serial SP2022s and love it almost as much as my old German 226. It’s still DA/SA though, maybe that’s part of what they are trying to get away from? It can’t just be price...
I am a SIG fanboi but only because I shoot best with ‘em and have always produced my tightest groups with a 226. Come to think of it, I wish I shot anywhere near as well with any Glock or anything polymer (although I’m not as bad with something in between like a SP2022) as I do with an all metal P-series... several…
P226 is more like a nice reliable BMW 5-series from the 1980’s ;-)
Not an issue. I’ve put 10k+ miles on rental two-pedal regular Foci and they get much better mileage than their turbo brethren... like 25-30 city and 35-38 highway. So the reserve light coming on when ~10 gallons are gone is fine, because that’s 250-300 city miles or 350+ highway miles.
Not the recall but had that done too.
Yep. I track all my mileage in Fuelly and my new GTI is consistently 3 to 5 mpg better across the board than my ‘14 FoST was - driven exactly the same way, using the same gas from the same stations. The mpg’s of the FoST combined with its small gas tank made it pretty annoying (200mi city, 300mi highway per fill-up)…
Both times it left on a flatbed it was engine electrical/harness related. Unacceptable for anything I’m making payments on
+1. I will call people out for riding on sidewalks as well as riding on the wrong side of the road.
Attn VW dealers or salesmen who want to make a quick easy sale today. Plz contact me privately. Just need at least 20% off a three pedal Golf R. Kthx
Entry fees $250-$350/weekend (at least two races), tires less $1k every few weekends, fuel and brakes maybe a couple hundred bucks per event, rebuilds on schedule every season or three... otherwise, too open ended of a question. It’ll fit on a cheap open trailer behind an old pickup truck, but it’ll also fit in a…
The Atoms are very much road legal in the US, if so equipped. They are built on premises at VIR and can be driven out the front gate by their new owners...
Sorry to burst your bubble but exactly none of that “scout” stuff actually happens. How it works is that you pay, and learn, and pay, and drive, and pay, and race, and pay, and race, and pay, and race... all the way up the pro sports car ranks. The number of guys getting free rides or getting paid to drive in this…
3 hours is nothing, some of us regularly drive 8 to 12 hours. Track days =/= racing (this car at least.) All NASA events I know of are on weekends and you’ll need to go through that HPDE program anyway...
Almost all NASA weekends are sprint race weekends (and most are doubles too - one race a day.) That said, I’m quite sure these cars will go quite a lot longer than one weekend on a set of Toyo RRs... I’d guess 2-3 sets a season is ballpark
Lightweight purpose built car with aero = doesn’t need moar powah to go fast
Anywhere there’s a NASA event, these cars will be allowed... https://www.nasaproracing.com/regions
