My first-grader had to bring in markers (black and colored), tape, glue sticks, sticky notes, tissues, hand sanitizer, paper towels, and ziploc bags. Yep. Because it makes so much more sense for 20 families to buy two 4-packs of markers for one classroom, multiplied by 20 different classrooms in the school, than it makes for the school to have a budget for effing markers.
