I realize this is a very low bar, but I’m actually kind of impressed that video proof the officer was lying made them rethink their ‘the kid deserved it’ stance instead of doubling down.

The FDA doesn’t like to allow drug companies to set dosage for children under 6 - because for most drugs it depends on the kid’s weight, and the theory is that it’s safer to check with a doctor then to have the parents estimate things. That doesn’t mean those things aren’t safe for children in a small dose.
