I don’t think they present him as the hero, does he win in the end usually and is he a main character sure. But IMO ALL the main family characters are TERRIBLE people in so many ways.  It’s a show that really doesn’t have a “hero” character at all.

I have been so turned off by the R&M fandom that I can’t really bring myself to like anything he makes at this point. It’s annoying because I really liked R&M at first.

I’ve gotten to the point where I think Roiland needs someone like Dan Harmon to keep him in check. Otherwise you ends up with shows and games where the main gag is “Oh we left in a recording room for 12 hours and he just prattled on and on”
