I would have much preferred if David was on the up and up as making him a bad guy is such the obvious trope that it’s not a surprise at all. I actually felt bad for the people Joel killed who seemed to not be deserving their fates but the “twist” takes out all the moral ambiguity. I guess that’s part of the point but

I feel like the skit would have worked better if whatever they used to make the fake tear’s wasn’t as clumsy. But, yes, a lot of Heidi’s work is adding depth to characters in a five minute skit

Go get them Afleck alimony money!

I kind of agree. It feels like the show puts more energy and creativity into the flashbacks and nit as much as the actual plot of the show. It’s all the prestige part of prestige tv without much of the tv

I feel like an issue with this show is that it does all the prestige-y stuff if tv very well- and this was very prestige- but not so much the tv part. This and episode 3 were freest but that’s two episodes of a limited series run not devoted to the actual plot. Their being a three month gap in between the previous two

I always wonder what it’s like to be on a band that looks out from the stage and sees an audience with of young, hip and very attractive people to a crowd of middle aged people and the realization that they are the same people. Like the Stones used to play to screaming teen girls to people as old as they are

They are in their 60’s now, long past the point where most bands are doing anything original or exciting. We should be okay with it but a lot if u2 fans, including me, are a little bummed out by recent activities. I think this has much to do with us reflecting on our aging as it is with their music

Casey and Henry were the more grounded characters of the cast. The rest were just comic relief or better in small doses. Not having her makes me wonder if the show will be more comic and whacky. Plus, Lizzy Kaplan is always great and will be missed.

The sketch was a good observation and definitely something that is true but it needed to be developed a bit more. It was still had some funny bits to it. The bit where they new all those movies from 1988 but none over the last five years was funny. Also kind of true

I think it took them a bit to figure out what to do with a Kate-less cast and they’re slowly figuring it out

It did feel really weird and awkward. I think it was just some long set up to get Amy to tell a joke on WU

I thought it was a fun episode in that there’s always one or two episodes where the cast seems really into, like they all had their Christmas party before the show instead of after. The writing wasn’t great but the cast seemed like they were having a ball and that Carrie’s over to into their performances

I feel like Stranger Things is too popular, especially with the kids, for it to be considered on a site that takes tv more seriously. Considering it made an old song from the 80’s into one of the biggest hits of the summer shows that it might have been the biggest piece of pop culture this year and thus relevant to

Did anyone else notice that the sound was way off and echoey, making it hard to hear anything?

I thought it was horrible too but we might be the only ones

Because it was boring. Very boring. Like incredibly boring.

The skit would have been funnier if I watched a lot of the Chapelle show but I did not so most of it was lost on me.

why did you think it the smartest bit of comedy of comedy you’ve seen on SNL in awhile? No snark, I’m just generally curious as I thought it was pretty lazy.
