If you think rock n roll is more about rebellion and standing up against authority, than what she did was great and very rock n roll. If you think it’s more about partying, sex and money, than it is bad thing. One also has to wonder if Kurt Cobain or Eddie Vedder had done what the reaction would have been.

“Honey, I just think I saw a bald women being chased by somebody all dressed in purple”

The chances that Prince is both crazy and abusive in ways detailed in the story I’d say are pretty high. I’d be willing to have some of same off between the two to determine who’s the saner. Or would if Prince was still alive

Love to see a Perkins Reviews Comedy classics so we can see him justify giving B- to movies like Blazing Saddles, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, or Marx Brothers movies. Groucho did take it a little too easy on Herbert Hoover

Fwiw- the guys in Monty Python couldn’t figure how out how to end skits and why they often went absurdist or cut away when the skit was going to end. It’s something other comedians talk about too. Like everything in art, the ending is often always the hard part

There was something weird at the beginning of the show too when it looked like they were coming out of a commercial break only to show a random band member for a second and then another commercial break. It was like they had a skit all lined up, then changed their minds at the last second and needed more time to set

I feel like everyone watched a different show than I did because I thought it was....great? It’s SNL and it’s going to do SNL type things. It’s not going to be Key & Peele and it’s never just going to have a cardboard foot come down and stomp everyone at the end of the skit because it’s not those shows- it’s SNL.

I think Tarantino ruined Roth for movies like this as all you can think of when you see him is how scared he was by someone with a bad Jheri curl and love for big kahuna burgers

The heroes of the franchise were the casting people who not just got the Trio right but also every side character and famous British actor right. Sure, Alan Rickman as Snape is a no brainer but all the other roles played by big name actors were perfect

Deathly Hallows felt both rushed and overwritten. Like she had much more story to tell or make it even longer but just wanted to get it done and over with. However, a certain other fantasy writer should probably have taken notes about how Rowling finished the series without taking long delays in between

If Gilliam did it, some awful thing would happen during the filming of it and the studio would demand he cut half of it out

I like the first one too as the 2nd was mainly one, long battle that was heavy on fan service. I like the tension and air of menace in the first one. It’s the only one, I think, that you actually feel there’s real stakes to it. I also like the camping sequence, damnit. Slowing things down and letting the characters

Making fun of any generation’s slang is kind of lazy and has nothing to really say about a generation. Other than them taking a group shot at the end of the skit, there was nothing really original about the idea. You could have done the same skit from the 70's cast on. I also didn’t know “bruh” was still a think so at

Also of note, Musk’s monologue looked like he was doing an impression of Michael Meyer’s Dieter right down to the facial expressions and pose. Unlike Dieter, neither was he funny or did it involve a monkey

I think that’s right. I personally love any skit that captures the craziness of Japanese culture but you can’t just do that anymore, especially with only one Asian cast member

The Murder Durder sketch killed me. KILLED ME. A lot of the press about Mare is how they dared to do Philly accent and the skit is them really leaning into the accent. Like, do you really want a Philly accent? Here’s the real Philly accent! We’re even going to through in repetitive use of the word “water” and “phone” (

I think it’s just that people don’t think something is anti-Semitic unless it involves the holding of a tiki torch. It’s kind of like how some people don’t think something is a racist unless it’s it involves a cross burning

Wait, somebody posted anti-Semitic comments on a message board about Farrakhan? That’s crazy! Who would have thought that would have happened?

If I could do deep fakes, I’d deep fake the crap out of that

Spock is such the obvious answer that I’m shocked nobody mentioned him or that I didn’t think of him when reading the list.
