Every fucking sports team declared that song their official song as if they were the only ones clever enough to declare it.. I was at the game the SF Giants won the pennant and the whole thing was marred not just by the playing of the song but by actually flying the band out to play it live.

Wasn’t that more 2001 and not 2000? They did such a good job of declaring themselves the Official Band of 9/11 that I might have gotten was the years mixed up

I would agree with it. I felt like parts of what would have normally been the middle of the season were skipped over and characters and plot lines were kind of rushed through at the end.

I thought Cindy was perfectly cast too. The type of teen girl who’s cute enough to think you had a shot with but not so attractive you’d think you never had a chance. It works especially well because Sam looks like you’re standard, ordinary teenage kid. The whole thing feels normal and something we could all relate

The clothes, which come from a period and place not known for it’s fashionable outfits, go a long way to making people seem less attractive. Cardenelli’s character attractiveness is deemphasized by the overlong army jacket and kind of ugly sweaters. Same could be said by all the actors who play the older characters.

I may or may not have been Millie at one point. I have been Sam asking Cindy to dance more times than I’d like to remember, even up to not knowing what to do when a slow song starts rocking out, although in my case it was also the jam at the end of “Free Bird” that always killed me

There’s a scene at the end of the 1st episode (I think it’s that episode) where everybody’s awkwardly stands around at the school dance feeling miserable until Styx’s “Come Sail Away” comes on and everybody just says screw it and dances that might be the most accurate depiction of High School dances and everything

It should be said that Richard Neal is terrible. He dawdled in requesting Trump’s tax returns and is one of the reasons why we won’t see them this election. He also shot blocked medical billing reform due to lobbyist pressure and blocked the addition of automatic triggers on unemployment. There’s always been an

Ugh, SF Progressives are the worst. Three of their most hated figures are now the Speaker of the House, Governor of California, and candidate for VP. The current mayor, one of the few people who’s had their crap together from the start of the pandemic was chased out of office the first time she was Mayor, and the

Since apparently we’re all about sacrificing old people to keep make our economy strong, they should just let them in free. Maybe even throw in a double feature with Easy Rider or the Woodstock documentary to lure them in.

In theory, it looks like a semi-safe environment but a lot of it depends on having faith in your fellow movie goers to wear masks and keep socially distant from each other so, good luck with that

Yeah, for whatever reason, people just automatically discount it without having actually seen it. Maybe it’s because it stars three women (probably) or that it’s most definitely something that reflects a pretty crappy era of pop culture to the point it has Tom Greene in it or maybe it’s seen as yet another endless

I don’t know why the Mummy so quickly went down the memory hole as I remember it being a well-liked and very fun movie. I feel like it should be considered one of those movies that are endlessly played on cable stations much in the same way they do with Zoolander but it somehow isn’t

I keep on telling people that and everybody looks at me like I’ve lost my mind when, in reality, it’s a really fun movie and endlessly rewatchable movie

I’m not sure the message is more about them going to jail and more like they’re really awful people who do really awful things. Of course, there’s a lot of guys who probably get off on their awfulness (including, I think, Scorcese)

Yeah, I think I remember her hiking some stats or there being other issues but I can’t remember most of it now and a lot of the people who complained about her were people I generally found annoying. I do remember that she was generally pretty impressive, though.

She’s always been more liberal than her reputation, deeply embedded in the SF establishment and the third most powerful person in the government. Being that powerful means money headed to the city. Being that powerful also impresses people because it’s pretty impressive she’s in that position.

So... if you read any of the actual policy proposals you will notice that the platform is pretty progressive and there’s a huge emphasis on some sort of Green New Deal program. Something that AOC helped put together as she helped write the plan. You know who else wrote proposals? Sanders and Warren. So, in short,

Don’t listen to those people. They were always going to vote for Trump but just needed an excuse to do it. Now they have it

Or Katie Hill just for the fun of it. And for handling a really embarassing and awful situation with class and dignity
