Never saw all of the movies in this series and I was still able to follow the story.

Hmm, Mr. Cameron, your highness? Have you considered that if people think your movie is too long, it’s because it doesn’t justify its lenght? That their might be pacing or story issue that prevent people from being fully invested in the movie?

I feel the same way. The original was ok, but not nearly good enough to get excited about multiple sequels 13 years later. I certainly don’t think there will be enough momentum to make 4 or 5, I’d be shocked if 3 makes much of a dent at the box office. I’m still surprised that Disney felt it was worth the effort…

Quite frankly, I´m not in the least interested in Avatar or it’s sequels. I saw the 1st one and was underwhelmed. Cameron could´ve better used his time and resources adapting Macross or Evangelion than making more Avatars.
