I think people are both jealous of them and against their extravagant lifestyle simultaneously and it makes them uncomfortable.

The infiniti G is already on a shared corporate platform (with the 370Z).  They just announced a new Z so why wouldnt they lower development costs of that platform by making new G(40)?

To me the real predecessor was the 2nd gen TL type-s. The 3rd gen was nice, but I hardly remember ever seeing one. Back in 2005ish the 2nd gen was everyyywhere.

I think you mean M240i. Its fairly obvious that cadillac is re-positioning V the same way Audi did S. S4 used to be a M3 competitor, but now its a M340i competitor. Cadillac is doing the same thing and will release a “RS” type trim to compete with the M3.
