@Maymar: Considering Altezzas are still being put on by the factory (mazda3 comes to mind), I wouldn't consider them dated, just ugly...

@Brian Madigan: I don't think they are actually spinning, I think its just an optical effect with regards to the frame rate of the video camera
@sharkd: I have a feeling that the tire sounds from the end of the lap was more due to the driver perhaps wanting the instructor out of his car as quick as possible than driving faster than was needed, at least thats how I would be feeling in that situation.

Actually, if the info via Edmunds is correct is IS a supplier problem that affects the pedal assembly itself. The japanese manufactured camrys and some of the american manufactured camrys have different pedal assemblies than the ones involved in the recall. Which incidentally is why no scions or lexuses are involved…
@Turkina: I don't know what particular vehicles you are referring to, all I know is that I can sit in the backseat of an MDX, Murano, X5, etc without my chin touching my chest and not so in a TL, RL, Maxima, Altima, or 5er.
