Agreed & I feel like Barbarism Begins at Home would've been a practically ideal Side 2 closer too.

Completely agree most of this & particularly your last sentence. Wilco sans Bennett was/is just a clearly less interesting band.

The Smiths come to mind for this. Some might push back on Meat is Murder, I suppose (although I think it's very good), but I can't imagine classifying it is an outright 'dud' either.

The phone - the phone! Where's the fucking phone??!

FORTY
MILLION
DAGGERS!

Waterloo might be my choice for the best pure pop song from 1970 on.

Just listened to Back To The Old House off of Hatful of Hollow this AM. I know every nook and cranny of said album at this point, but I always enjoy it.

Peter Tosh - Get Up, Stand Up
The Replacements - Unsatisfied
Fugazi - I'm So Tired
Beastie Boys - Shake Your Rump
Neutral Milk Hotel - King of Carrot Flowers Pt 1
Belle & Sebastian - Seymour Stein
XTC - Grass
Camper Van Beethoven - Club Med Sucks
Television Personalities - Silly Girl
Cat Stevens - Trouble

Is this for real? Shit, why wouldn't it be at this point..

Jason Lee is going to be the bomb as Fletch, yo!

Right, the takeaway at the end of that discourse seemed to be "liberals have to stop being so easily triggered" (which is borderline revolting, all things considered).

Not so much in the interview itself. Bill Maher was positively Fallon-esque in his treatment of this shitbag.

I was just talking about this point re:Oliver yesterday & agree completely. However - & the host alluded to this last night - DT is so pervasive as to be inescapable & I get that. I think a lot of these comedians/hosts are having trouble sifting past the low hanging fruit at this point.

I know that's a primary goal, but it isn't working (for me, at least).

Bill Maher didn't come off well to begin with. He was feckless during the entirety of the interview & hardly pressed the interviewee at all.

Maybe it's just me (& I suppose it is a small sample), but are these sort of segments just falling completely flat for anybody else in the wake of NOV 2016? I watched the whole program last night - & Samantha Bee on Wednesdays & a smattering of The Daily Show - & It all just seems so ineffectual in the face of what's

I fear you are both right. Even with everything that's out there as far as connections to Russia, etc, I don't share the (seemingly prevalent) optimism of many that impeachment, etc is just around the corner & I don't have an iota of faith that anybody within the Republican party is going to act in a manner that

Agree completely. This was disappointing treatment of an individual who warranted kid gloves of no kind.

Zounds like a plan.
