They made some great trades as far as prospect value goes last summer. Obviously, one never knows how they'll develop, but they have restocked the upper levels of their system nicely (Gleyber Torres was already a great get but his prospect star seems to only be rising too).

Same. I think he bounces back offensively this year assuming health - no small thing- on what is essentially a one year deal. His defense in RF is more concerning to me but it's probably a necessary evil with Kendrys Morales tying up the DH spot for three probable years (again - why the need to rush into that?).

It was funny (scary?) how Jon Stewart received so much constatnt ire from right-wingers while Stephen Colbert was largely exempt from like criticism despite his hilariously broad persona which was extremely over the top (in the midst of the GWB-era, no less). It seemed that many of them honestly just didn't get the

Oh no, not this again..

His "I don't think this is a comedy show anymore" was just perfectly put. Gawd, what an awful night.

Not in Wegmans country, unfortunately. I run into the Space Dust IPA (which is terrific) frequently, but that's about it.

Well played although (& you probably know this) Ryan actually has something of an apparent sense of humor about this these days. He's even covered a couple of Bryan Adams' hits on recent occasions.

Eugene Kelly (from The Vaselines) - Indian Summer (Beat Happening cover)
Dear Nora - Girl From the North Country (Dylan cover)
Tobin Sprout - Courage the Tack
Jonathan Richman & The Modern Lovers - The Morning of Our Lives
The Heptones - Pretty Looks
New Pornographers - Mass Romantic
Guided by Voices - A Salty Salute

Same here & I've actually attempted to defend him some in the past (pre-election).

Maybe my favorite piece of minutia about any member of Barack Obama's administration, although he did resign in 2014. Carney is absolutely a mega fan too. He entered the WH Briefing Room to the strains of Motor Away for his last briefing which is just astonishingly awesome.

Stereolab - Harmonium
NIcky Hopkins - Waiting For the Band
Richard Thompson - The Calvary Cross
The Move - Cherry Blossom Clinic Revisited (the most GBV-sounding non GBV title ever?)
Joseph Spence - Out On The Rolling Sea
Talking Heads - The Girl Wants To Be With The Girls
Yo La Tengo - Did I Tell You
M Ward - Human Punching

He's certainly out of his element.

Completely agree. I'll probably end up following it out of the corner of my eye but these are ominous times & it's near impossible to "stick to sports" or whatever. I feel like the tone deaf "just concentrating on this BIG GAME" soundbites - including those of the commissioner - coming out in the wake of what's

They're BOTH good teams!

I can think of somebody that I & many others hate more than Roger Goodell. Go Falcons.

'I feel a twinge of guilt for rooting against Brady and the Patriots'

Exactly. I feel like this should be emphasized more.

I thought the President & Elanor had a whimsical and moving singalong with Annie at the White House though! I don't know what to believe anymore.

This brings Sterolab to mind. Sorry, Stereolab.

Both of them are absolute peaches to say the least.
