Wait - that thing from those Star Wars prequels? People didn't like that?

"I'm sorry. I wasn't prepared for that kind of onslaught.."

Behold the power of faith!

Yeah, there's more than a little truth to that. That old bit where he goes into how it doesn't matter who wins an election (since he thought it doesn't really change anything in terms of one's day to day life) sticks out as one that has aged poorly, rather obviously.

With you. What the fuck was the rush to go all in on Kendrys Morales anyhow?

I'm a big fan of his but I never felt like his performance in the prequels really came anywhere close to most of his strongest non-Star Wars performances (obviously, there are Lucas caveats aplenty). I seem to recall a decent enough Alec Guiness approximation once the full beard came in, but that's about it.

By "weird" do you mean totally awesome?

My cutoff has been Season 9 for a long while, but, in retrospect, it's not like I stopped watching in the Fall of 1998 in real time. There must have been some decent episodes in there until I bailed, more or less, in the early-mid 00s.

So, if one of about 5-7 things go a different way, things are looking a lot different for Michigan right now. I normally kind of snicker (to myself, I'm not a monster) at folks who get hung up on officiating and spots, etc but I think Wolverine fans/supporters wouldn't be out of line for complaining about the general

Diary of a Wimpy Kid is great. Splendid use of humor and the narrator is far from a perfect kid (both in terms of how he treats others and his achievements, goals, etc) which is so refreshing. My son just got the new one out of our local library and I might have been almost as excited as him.

Oh yeah, I share the same thought too (although it is more than a little frightening how Romney is almost a beacon of hope in comparison to most of the other names that have been appointed/speculated/etc).

Yes, there is definitely that element to it, no doubt about it.

GBV! You're Not an Airplane is kind of like the Her Majesty of Bee 1K to me. Gawd, I love that album.

Completely agree & was just saying something to that effect the other day in the Achtung Baby comments. I think Side Two of The Joshua Tree was absolutely key to the way I grew to love/consume music (although Running To Standstill at the end of Side One was obviously great also).

M. Ward - Hi-Fi
Gene Clark - From a Silver Phial
Fred Neil - I've Got a Secret (Didn't We Shake Sugaree)
Connie Converse - Talkin' Like You
Abner Jay - I'm So Depressed
Moby Grape - I Am Not Willing
Electrelane - I'm On Fire (cool Springsteen cover)
The Cramps - Green Fuz
Tom Waits - Anywhere I Lay My Head
Graham Parker -

Yeah, Graham is the only real vocal opponent that comes to mind here too. I'm not sure I've heard John Kasich's public reaction to the election results either way, but I may have missed it.

I completely agree. It's absolutely dispiriting, but this is what we saw in the general election cycle too.

Lots of possibilities here, but I'll heartily nominate Mitt Romney. Fuck him. What a worm that guy is.

Agreed & I thought the Blue Room/Slug songs were nice U2/Eno unions.
