Yeah, the former isn't really any sort of diss but the sentiment of "where did you go?" that spikes the song throughout could be perceived by some as not exactly fawning.

I still think Let's Dance is unfairly dismissed critically. It's an extreme departure but it is a very, very good straightforward LP.

I always thought the joke was kind of that Malkmus' representation was pretty much the antithesis of how the Stone Temple Pilots came off. Not saying it landed necessarily…
