I have thought about this too. Why on earth would Bowie have felt the need to 'sell out' to begin with? Were people just willfully oblivious to the first 15 years or so of his career?

I'd quibble about many of the above being "deep cuts" but Without You fits for me. I always thought that was a beautiful vocal from the first Bowie album I remember (as a very young kid).

Yeah, I'm not ready to listen to it either.

As for the second song mentioned above, wasn't it believed that the song's namesake was hurt by that song?
