I think I know what you mean. I sort of envy those who have taken this as sort of an 'Irish wake' as I haven't been able to listen to Bowie yet, save for some songs I encountered in the car on Monday on the radio. I missed that little window to hear Blackstar over the weekend and I'm not sure when I will be ready to

I feel like I read a feature on Weezer from around the time that Pinkerton came out (Alternative Press, maybe?) and there was almost a clear chasm between Sharp & Rivers Cuomo with the latter practically attempting to forsake a lot of the goofiness that accompanied the band's image. Sharp, naturally, went the other

Yes, that's right - thanks.

I think we might have the same circle of friends as my experience is much the same, ha. ;)

(get things done..)

I've heard good things about The Popples.

Now that's a comedic payoff!

Agreed. Physically, it shouldn't work at all but that ends up only augmenting the humor imo.

Ha, just great how he cupped the phone in his hand & uttered that line.

(in worst cockney accent imaginable) 'Not bloody liiikely!'

'Yo, can you turn your robot down, please?'

This is fantastic & it really gels with how that part came across. He truly seemed to embrace how over the top it was to say the least.

I relate to this so well. Syracuse University had a Maurice McClain & a Jameel McClain seemingly consecutively in the early-mid 2000s on its football team. Just about any instance in which either was mentioned would result in an impassioned 'HANS!!' or some other Die Hard reference/quote when watching with my friend.

Thanks for that memory, agreed.

Yeah, he's definitely in that rare category of actors who just seemed to elevate projects with his mere presence (very much like Bill Nighy).

Didn't some of the personnel from New Order cover it, more or less? Use that.

Phenomenal voice.

I dug how he adopted the persona of 'Bill Clay' on the fly when he encounters McClain in the latter's element too.

Matt Sharp or gtfo

I didn't get 'the reference' & then kept scrolling. Jesus, some week this has been. I liked him as an actor quite as a bit.
