Oh yeah, all the extras on there are sublime, that included. I mean - John, I'm Only Dancing, Velvet Goldmine, Sweet Head are all top notch & I liked the acoustic title track quite well too.

Keep going. ;)
It's a legitimately good (great?) song to me too. It's unabashedly polished but it sort of works for it imo.
Slight understatement at the end there.
His smirk/smile at the end of delivering that was epic. I didn't even watch a recent clip, I still recall it.
This might be an understatement actually. It makes one almost wish it could last forever when in the midst of it.

I almost wish that's how I would have received the news as I didn't find out until I arrived at work. If I had checked my tablet before the kids woke up around 6:50 AM or so, the news about Bowie would still have been an undoubted sucker punch but I would have had to forge ahead with the morning routine for, to…
All of this is perfect (& achingly true). Very sad.
That's what I was alluding to earlier to my wife via email. I won't be able to listen to Bowie today almost assuredly (too raw/near the bone at this point) but his influence is inescapable in just about any subsequent artist I might put on.
I remember this story! Thanks so much for re-posting.
Jesus, this is well put.
