McCabe & Mrs Miller had an element of that too

Should they have cast Jenna Ortega as the younger version of Aubrey Plaza?
I am not really sold on Costner as a director entirely, but I have to give credit for the staging of the final gunfight in Open Range, which is absolutely unique and incredible
I mean, they are pretty freaky
To me the Ginger Snaps trilogy might be the three best werewolf movies. Certainly my favorites
I had to look up what suicide by proxy is. In early modern Europe a lot of depressed women who had been taught that suicide was a sin that would condemn them to hell instead committed homicides (often of infants) so that the state would have to execute them & they could repent & go to heaven. History is some sick shit
Prey is my favorite from this list
I would love a second season of the Hawkeye show, though I don’t know if that was ever planned. He and Hailee Steinfeld worked really well together. When she sent him a get-well message on instagram and called him “partner” it may have got me in the feels.
Saving Face is brilliant and a delight
But I’m a Cheerleader is obviously a groundbreaking queer story, but also transcends that and is just a great movie & great romantic comedy
Charade is sort of a perfect movie. The age gap between Hepburn and Grant doesn’t detract I think because she is the aggressor, and he is Cary Grant
I am not sure why lesbian romantic comedies are such an effective subgenre for me. Maybe because the conflict keeping the couples apart doesn’t have to be manufactured.
I like this a lot. The supporting characters are more charismatic than the leads, but the leads are growing on me.
My favorite performance by a surfer is Keala Kennelly in John from Cincinnati, but this guy seems cool too. RIP
This is embarrassing, but I thought her having Stiff Person Syndrome was a gag
Those early Almodovar movies that Carmen Maura starred in are still my favorites of his, probably because of her
Shoresy is kind of like Slap Shot: the TV Show, but ultra-Canadian
Peter Jason was a favorite of John Carpenter & does a DVD commentary with him I believe on Prince of Darkness
Doctor Who is almost always uneven, but the best episodes this season have been somewhat revelatory IMO
