Carr is my favorite of all the golden age mystery writers. I would love either a Gideon Fell or a H.M. TV series

The reference to  John Dickson Carr gives me greater respect for him as an aficionado of classic mysteries

Interesting that their models for effective sitcom romances are Jim & Pam on The Office and Nick & Jess on New Girl. Not exactly deep dives into the depths of sitcom history 

His role in Slow Horses almost seems like too Gary Oldman-y a role to be challenging for him. But in fact he is incredible in it 

Root & Shaw’s arc was surprisingly emotionally devastating and tender given how badass and ferocious they both were

Root & Shaw is my favorite, so glad to see that on the list.

I always think of Josh Segarra as Prometheus on Arrow, the show’s 2nd best villain. He also was fun as a really uncaring prison guard on Orange is the New Black 

Open Range is really great and far, far less pretentious than this sounds 

The addition of Andrea Martin as a regular helped last season, as well as Kristen’s daughters becoming more distinct and interesting characters in their own rights. yeah I also am torn between wanting more seasons & being excited for hopefully an excellent planned end, especially since this seems like a show that was always pointing toward something, though I have no idea what 

I think Katja Herbers is excellent on this show, I love how she looks angelic & perhaps is on the side of the angels, but definitely is not one.

The dropped storyline that really bothers me in its lack of resolution was Ben dating the reality show producer who either had a ghost twin who was harassing him, or else she was just gaslighting him 

I really like this show, but I think at some point there needs to be some answers about how real the supernatural stuff is. I guess basically we know it is real at this point but we need to know a little better how it works 

I doubt this will be as good as Deadloch as both a comedy & mystery, but if it is in the ballpark of that quality I will be happy

Will Forte is sort of a genius, but I hope he is less than half as annoying as he was in Last Man on Earth, or I might not be able to take it 

Some of the best modern rom-coms are LGBTQ stories though. But I’m a Cheerleader and Saving Face are particular favorites of mine & to me great movies regardless of genre--but they definitely succeed spectacularly as rom-coms specifically 

Beyond the hatefulness of her views, it makes her look really, really bad to be so petty and vicious toward these grown-up kid actors who are by all accounts and appearances, really great people, in spite of all the show business weirdness they must have encountered

Which is a cool gag given that Chief Zabu for a long time was a lost movie, so the ad was quite bizarre 

Glad to see Emily Hampshire getting interesting roles. She is terrific
