The announcement says the movie will be available to rent on demand, slightly different than available for streaming I think?

Look out Judi Densch!

I hope we still get reviews though it doesn’t look like it. I agree the av club has been one of the few places where Doctor Who fans gather for discussion & usually are bearable & don’t descend into anorak-style pedantry and carping

You don’t hear me complaining about that

Kind of a slow news day I guess

One of the episodes where I can most relate to the doctor

Tennant deserves the curtain call. In a way I see it as paying forward his generosity in welcoming Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane back to the series in “School Reunion”

Tennant was not my favorite Doctor (though Donna is my favorite companion of the new series). But it was really nice to have him back & I was surprised at how emotional I found it. I really respect his contributions to the series, which he took to unprecedented heights of both international popularity and sustained

My favorite show is back!

Vern Troyer is not perhaps my #1 Napoleon, but I would include him on the list

I would notice, but I like her too

Hard to come up with a new chicken dish. Kudos to them

An entertaining show. The episode where they raced to the north pole, one driving an SUV and the other with a dog sled team, was pretty incredible

That’s the worst name I ever heard

I don’t disagree with any of that. I do think she is talented & would like to see her in different kinds of roles, I am kind of tired of her as the ambiguously good cult leader, though it certainly fits her

I have liked some of Brit Marling’s indie sci-fi movies quite a  bit.  But the bigger budget and more expansive run time of The OA seemed to me to feed into her worst tendencies

Those Riverdale boys are always having to fend off predatory female teachers

I wasn’t too mad about it in general & especially not in this case since Dakota Johnson is actually talented and cool

I wonder if I will feel about this as I do about most Brit Marling projects, that I enjoy the intelligence and ambiguity of it unless it crosses the line into utter self-absorption and pretentiousness

Better Greta Gerwig than Etta Earwig
