Can’t she be in both? Nebula was in the Avengers as well as the Guardians...

Nigel Kneale’s 1968 The Year of the Sex Olympics, for British TV (with Brian Cox) somewhat predicted the crass rise of reality TV

I would think that Florence Pugh as Yelena is a must as the new Avengers’ version of the Black Widow, taking up her sister’s mantle as well as her super-cool vest. Her character’s already established chemistry with Kate provides a nice foundation for the team

I love this show and not just because it has provided work for Tasya Teles post-The 100

Did not expect the av club to add this to their sparse tv club coverage these days, but it does sound different

School Reunion might not be the best episode of the new series, but it is my favorite. They really did justice to the return of Sarah Jane. I’m glad they now have realized some of the other old school companions like Ace, Tegan, and Mel deserve a swan song too

“The Annihilator” is a super-cool nickname & makes me like Carol Danvers even more

The Goblin sandwich sounds like an atrocity on par with human trafficking

I am not really a fan of the movie Elf (though my mom loved it and wanted to watch it every year). But I love this article & her scenes in the movie were terrific

This is a terrific show. I need to catch up on it. It is an interesting mix of realistic in the problems that teachers deal with and aspirational in the positive culture these teachers create. I tend to agree with her that an actual school shooting episode would not fit   with the fictional world of the show and the

Strange to say, I actually like these as a slideshow. I don’t like having to scroll through every single story on the same page

John Carpenter’s movies, some of them, are tremendous & I think he knows will outlive him & be a legacy that he really doesn’t need to talk up since they speak for themselves

Maybe he is prepping for a colonoscopy

Come on, everybody loves The B-52s. The band I mean, not the bombers that have rained death on so many

Criticizing a Scorsese movie for being too violent is kind of like criticizing the pope for being too religious. But I do understand why from her perspective she wouldn’t like it & I think I would probably prefer her version too, especially if it is as well-directed as her “Deer Lady” flashback episode this season on

I just rewatched the “October 31" episode of Evil & I don’t remember a scene where the creepy masked girl fades away. There is a cut after she starts to remove her mask, we hear screaming, and later we see her skipping away

And the entity ... didn’t want you to eat? This leaves me with questions

With some heavy editing could have been an interesting entry

Spielberg’s Duel is widely considered the greatest TV movie I think. Though I might love the original Night Stalker with Darren McGavin more

De Niro and DiCaprio, together again, for the first time, for the last time!
