As a children’s librarian I love this for a ton of reasons. Obviously the library connection is one of them, and social consciousness in young folks is always great to see, but honestly the biggest is that my job has let me see a lot of kid performers, and (with no offense at all to the enthusiasm of the ones who are

I have a friend who used to do a lot of scalping many many years ago as a way to get some extra cash in college. It was the early 2000s so he was mostly just taking advantage of weird early internet selling practices.
I asked him about the current insanity going on in the scalping world and he said its crazier than it

I remember reading a copy of the national edition of Variety back in ‘94, maybe ‘95, that had an annoucement ad by New Line announcing it had exercised its option on Jim Carrey to star in the coming-soon “The Mask 2.”

You’re Next is my go-to example of a “horror comedy” where the comedy doesn’t undermine the horror. Even the last joke of the film is dark as all hell.

I thought Ready or Not had very similar horror/thriller vibes as You're Next.

Did you watch Death Note?

Great read. It was fascinating to see him talk about his career decisions in such a candid way.

I loved the first few seasons of Moonlighting. That said, I agreed with Cybil Shepard when she said the series was pretty misogynistic. I mean, by all accounts Shepard isn’t the easiest person to work with, but I do think she got a raw deal from the show, especially as it went on.

Being the church of satan you would think they’d have all the best lawyers.

“Look at this guy, he’s so fat he hasn’t seen his dick since the 80s”

There’s an interview where he talks about not wanting to become the Rock. He praises the Rock but says “I want to be an actor, not an action star.” The guy is genuine and nice and interested in the art and craft of it all and it shows. I can’t help but hope he succeeds.

Fun tidbit. I saw him at the mall once. He was squeezing his gigantic frame into one of the benches of those mall trains for children...

Dave is great. Not only is he a charismatic and likable screen presence— he was also the first and loudest to stand up for James Gunn when the right-wing trolls engineered his ‘cancellation’ and firing from Disney.  The big guy gave zero fucks and did the right thing when everyone else was covering their asses.

You seem to forget that WWE is at its heart, scripted.

I remember another poster saying how he took acting courses to get better. Anyone willing to improve their craft gets a thumbs up from me, and like you said you get the feeling he legit loves his craft.

Nah, I feel that way too. The Rock’s the biggest movie star, and Cena seems to be the funniest, but Bautista might be the best actual actor of the three.

It may be the best introductory montage to a Zack Snyder movie since, well, the Johnny Cash end-of-the-world blur that kicked off the filmmaker’s first feature and last visit to the zombie apocalypse, his Dawn Of The Dead remake.”

Say what one will about Watchmen, but I’ve never seen anyone, including people who hate

I got into WWE like a year or two before he left the company and just did not understand the appeal of the guy or why he was consistently booked for main event stuff. Nothing about his wrestling persona was very engaging (At the time he was basically just doing “Angry Big Man” stuff,) and when it was rumored that he

Is it weird that I’m really proud of Bautista? He’s had such a fascinating career. Yeah, he does the occasional action movie worthy of his athletic prowess, but then he gets cast in stuff like Blade Runner 2049, Dune, or the new Knives Out. He’s one of the few wrestlers-turned-actors who I feel loves the craft.
