Sometimes it gets hard to remember, but at the time, the gay representation in The Wire was a huge deal. It says a lot that things that were groundbreaking representation-wise even 10, 15 years ago seem archaic and quaint now.

It’s still a big deal to have a major character that is both gay and non white. There was a

Hey God, Omar comin’.

“Contempt for the audience” was my first impression when I saw the trailer for this. Which is weird, because Michael Schur doesn’t usually go that route with the shows he produces. This feels like something that would’ve aired for half a season on Spike TV and be forgotten, next to re-runs of Gary the Rat or some

I remember when the trailer came out and it looked godawful and all the cast/creators came out tweeting how it didn’t represent the show’s actual quality. So I guess the fact that it’s a D rather than an F was the real step up we were promised.

Yeah, she forgot that she had a previous commitment to continuing to get work, so it just didn't work out.

“Bennet did not sign her offer due to scheduling.”

There’s an alternate timeline where all those stunts don’t fuck him up and where Philip Berk doesn’t grope him and I wonder, in that timeline, what his arc would have been.

It’s a polite way of saying “Kevin Smith, who has made some real shit movies lately”

“The director has been a divisive figure over the years”

“Wanna help us kill Sheriff Goode?”

AVC is notoriously down on anything fun.

These movies have been really fun, I'm not sure why AVC has been so down on them.

The same people who cry “It’s for kids, who cares?” are also the same people who trash people for enjoying the 80's Transformers movie.

Because why not give kids something of value instead?

He also isn't involved in this project at all.

Plus, so much of the humor (and part of the... well, everything) in cartoons rely on doing things you can’t do in real life.  And yeah we can bridge that gap today via CGI but, well, good CGI costs more money than a Nickelodeon budget (or I guess a Paramount+ budget?) is gonna shell out for.

Live action versions of cartoons are just...weird. It’s like recasting an entire series.

Just to remind everyone: Butch Hartman is a transphobe...
