As a long time fan of the game, Madden needs to end.
It's really the gameplay type for me. I love the style and options I have in an Assassin's Creed game, and I can play each game multiple times and love it. Call of Duty doesn't leave me with alot of options aside from shoot all enemies to proceed.

Yes! This is why I play games on the PC. There are certain games (namely The Elder Scrolls and other Bethesda games) where I cannot play without fan mods.

It doesn't matter. They can charge and distribute their intellectual properties however they see fit. This leads back to the fact that the only option is to not buy the game if you don't like the way they sell it and all its various parts.
In regards to Capcom, buying used is exactly the same as not buying it at all.
I play games like your girlfriend. I like to mess around and explore the limits of the game, like what objects are interactive. I like to see if I can break the the immersion immediately, so that I can avoid it during my "serious" portion of the game.
Aside from the benefits Capcom stated, and that the article above mentions, there is no difference.
