Textbook publishers are doing something to combat used sales. They update the text, change assessment questions around, slap on a new revision number, and now everyone has to buy the new textbook, because the old ones do not correlate to what the professor is using.

You're right, attempts to influence people to buy a new movie do exist, but nothing as effective as forcing used game buyers to support a company if they want to use their services. There are also movie studio clubs which can earn you free stuff by buying new products, like Nintendo does with the Nintendo Club.

Every game should have a trial period. I believe it is a week or so to try out the game before you are required to fork over any money.

Same can be said of Free-to-Play games. You can play for free all you want, but if you want the good shit, you gotta pay for it or subscribe. It does not say that they do not care about their community, just that they like people that give them money more.

Gaming back in the day was different. When a game left the studio and got shipped to stores, support of that game was essentially over. There was no online multiplayer, no patches or updates, therefore there was no cost post-release. Developers just moved on to the next game. Because of this, games were no different

Why aren't companies that make those products at war with the second hand market? Why isn't Aeropostal freaking out over used t-shirt sales? Why doesn't Warner Bros. freak out when people start selling used copies of Harry Potter DVDs? Why is it that BMI hasn't started putting in roadblocks on the sale of used CDs?

Multiplayer is supported post-release, by a service, which incurs additional costs. Providing that service to those who do not support the game developers and publishers is not a requirement. It is also at their discretion to charge those who do not buy the game new for that service.

I think it is more like a car company allowing those that buy a new car free access to oil changes, tire rotations, and general protective maintenance and charging those who buy used cars for those features.

I hope every publisher does this. Patches, fixes, updates, server maintenance, moderators, new maps and multiplayer skins are some of the costs inccured by the developers and publishers. Some companies have found different ways to help diffuse the costs, such as charging for map packs, multiplayer skins, or the

I just hearted you for your sheer determination to show so many people that used games sales are not equivalent to just about any other used sales. I am glad there is one person out there that understands that support for an online multiplayer does not cease when the game is shipped and those that host servers or make

Super Awesome! That show is so addicting. Thanks for that, and have a great vacation.

Especially if she appeared in Playboy.

Cake for everyone!

What state do you live in? I think I want to move there.

No. It makes it less boring. Sharp pointy sword versus a wolf should never take more than 1-2 hits, even on the first level. Same thing goes if you get lucky and get a headshot with an arrow or bullet.

They would never give me the headshots mod, even though I would pay for it and all the rest.

I cannot imagine a world without mods for Fallout or The Elder Scrolls. I don't think I could go back to playing games like those without mods like Realistic Headshots, inventory sorters, or graphical updates.

If only every woman was as wonderful as you!
